Alpha release nearing…
I have been crashing bugs and cleaning up stuff so I could release first sneak peak version of the game engine. There is still some work to do, but hopefully I get the thing out next week. Here is short list of features included:
- Area changing with teleports
- pathfinding in freeform 2d space
- collectibles: items can be picked to inventory, and activated from quickbar
- containers: containers give collectibles when clicked
- 1 npc monster: monsters will pursue player character and initiate melee when near enough
- 1 spell: firespell: clicking spell scroll on quickbar and then clicking ground will make fire spell with fire effect
- rotating the view: the world view can be rotated
Things nearly ready, but postponed to next milestone:
- switchable weapons, shields
- Area status saving/loading when leaving area (now areas are created from initial data every time they are entered)
- ” Container npc’s” – to make simple questing/shop system
